As I've said, Donna and I have a working Bulgarian vocabulary of about 100-150 words, which allows a fair amount of communication with the boys. You won't need it, but here are some words in Bulgarian it's useful to know.
"Iskam" -- I want, probably the top word we hear from the boys.
"Hubaf" -- nice, good, a term of approval, a word we hear a lot from the boys. Or they point at something and ask us if it is "hubaf."
"Ne pipai," -- don't touch, probably the top phrase the boys here from us (in fact Dimcho often imitates us by saying, "Ne, ne, ne."
"Tiho" -- be quiet, probably the next most common work they hear from us.
"Opasno" -- dangerous, a work we often use.
Finally, "glutche," which means "keys" but which the boys use to indicate any toy they pretend are keys: a set of measuring spoons, some tangled, broken ear buds, etc.. As with so many things, they are imitating us, and because we have locked many rooms in the house they see us continually using keys.
We of course know the Bulgarian words for pee and poop and many other things, but hopefully you won't need to know them!
